Class List

Ballet

Ballet is a classical form of dance that is the basis for most dance styles. Students are taught proper technique and body placement through barre work, center floor exercises, and across the floor combinations. Ballet teaches grace and coordination while promoting strength and flexibility.

Tap

Tap is an American dance style that is based on sounds. Tap technique incorporates intricate footwork and focuses on the clarity of sounds. It teaches students rhythm and coordination. The class consists of exercises taught at the barre, in the center, and across the floor.

Jazz

Jazz is a rhythmic form of dance performed to popular music. Warm-up exercises and combinations focus on stretching the whole body while working on isolations, strength, and flexibility. The more advanced students work on perfecting turns, leaps and extensions.

Lyrical

Lyrical is a dance form whose foundation is based on ballet and jazz. It uses music to inspire movement and capture a feeling or tell a story. Students work on strength, flexibility, performance quality and creativity.

Pointe

Pointe is an extension of ballet performed on shoes specially designed for dancing on your toes. This class is intended for the more advanced student and is offered by teacher recommendation only.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a funky dance style that is fun and fresh! It concentrates on intricate movement, isolations and floor work that is danced to age-appropriate popular music. The Hippity Hop class is designed for the younger student. It meshes jazz with hip hop.

Cheerdance

Cheerdance blends jazz and hip hip movement while  focusing heavily on strong arm motions and bold cheer style movements.. This style of dance uses poms during their performances.

Modern

Modern is a creative dance style derived from ballet. The instructor uses a Limon warm-up. Much of the movement is inspired by the Limon and Graham styles focusing on the intricacies of space, levels, contractions, & breath. It encourages free expression and interpretive movement through music. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced students.

Dance Variety 

Dance Variety classes are offered to our youngest dancers These classes introduce students to a variety of dance styles. Each of the classes teach these young learners how to follow directions, improve their concentration, and gross/fine motor skills all while having fun. 

*Parent +Me (18mos to 2.5 yrs)

Parent & Me (18 mos. to 2.5 yrs.) This class is designed to introduce movement to music in a comfortable atmosphere.30 min. class. 

Adult Classes

Adult Fitness/Dance classes will be offered by Drop In. Some, but not all, of the options include: Adult Fitness, Yoga, & Jazz/Hip Hop classes. Pay as you go.

Acro-dance

Stretch & Conditioning

This class is designed to help dancers learn how to stretch and condition their body in the proper way. It will show them how to best avoid injury. Students will work as a group and individually to improve their turns, leaps, extensions, and splits. This class is a pre-requisite for certain members of the dance team.

Competition Team

For the serious dancer and parent! Competition Team requires many hours of dedication and commitment. Please see a teacher if interested.
